How to choose the right size of linen curtains
- Measure the Width:
- Use a metal tape measure for the most precise results.
- Start measuring from the outside edge of one window frame to the outside edge of the opposite frame. This includes any trim or molding that you wish to cover with the curtains.
- Write down this measurement.If you prefer a fuller look, consider adding 12 to 24 inches (30 to 60 cm) to each side of the window width measurement. This will allow for more fabric to stack when the curtains are closed.
2.Measure the Height:
- Measure from the top of the window frame (or the desired starting point for your curtain rod) to the desired bottom point. This could be the floor, a few inches above the floor for a puddling effect, or the bottom of the window sill.
- Write down this measurement.
- Keep in mind that if you're planning to hang your curtains from a rod above the window frame, you'll need to include the extra height of the rod and any brackets when determining the final curtain length.
