How to measure?

First, you need to decide if you want to mount the blinds inside the window frame (inside mount) or outside it (outside mount).

For inside mount

  • Measure the width inside the frame at three points – top, middle, and bottom. Record the narrowest measurement.
  • Measure the height inside the frame at three points – left, center, and right. Record the longest measurement.

For outside mount

  • Measure the width of the window frame and add extra width for desired coverage (usually 2-3 inches on each side).
  • Measure the desired height from the top of the frame to where you want the blind to end.

Warm Tips

Roman shades top window coverings with unique appeal and practicality, but consider their applicability and limitations.

  • Spatial Layout and Sight Impact:
The stacks created by Roman shades when fully raised may block some of the view above the window, which may not be optimal for spaces that seek open views or need to make the most of natural light.
This is especially important in rooms with compact space layouts or where window placement is critical (e.g., home offices, drawing rooms, or places where frequent window views are required).
  • Window Size and Depth Requirements:
The mechanics and folding design of Roman shades do require a certain window depth to ensure proper hanging and operation. If the window is too shallow, it may make it difficult to install the shades or even affect their function and appearance.
  • width and height: Don't overlook window depth when measuring dimensions. Verify Roman shades' minimum depth before installing to avoid problems.
